Dieter Klose was one of Australia’s finest referees from the 1960s to the 1980s.
At his peak, the Queenslander was recognised as being one of the nation’s top match officials and was well respected by the clubs and players.
He has held many positions in the referees federation and is a life member of the Australian Soccer Referees Federation.
Klose served as State President of the ASRF for more than 10 years before becoming National President.
In 2019, Football Queensland announced he would be honoured following his passing with the 'Dieter Klose Community Referee of the Year Award' named after him, which will acknowledge Klose’s significant contribution to the game in Queensland.
