Eric Worthington emigrated to Australia in 1973 after a long career in England during which he played 14 years as a professional with Queens Park Rangers and Watford.
He was at Loughborough College for 12 years as a lecturer and was an English FA staff coach during 20 years teaching and coaching football.
Following his appointment as national director of coaching for Soccer Australia, Worthington was responsible for a highly successful teaching program that produced coaches in every state.
He has also had input into the Australian Institute of Sport.
He passed away in Sydney in 2006 at the age of 80.
