Bob Telfer migrated to Australia in 1927 from Wishaw in Scotland, and settled in Adelaide, South Australia.
He made his mark on the game as a player, coach, referee, manager of international and state teams, administrator, football writer and editor.
Over many years, Telfer officiated in the positions of secretary, chairman and president of the SASFA in Adelaide.
He was an international selector and member of many committees, including the football committee for the Olympic Games held in Melbourne in 1956.
Telfer was honoured with life membership of his local club Kingswood and also received player life membership together with full life membership of the South Australia Soccer Federation.
He was captain and coach of his club Kingswood and won various medals, as well as being chairman of the junior schools council.
In a unique situation Bob Telfer won international blazers in three different fields in the sport of football: as a player, referee and manager.
He passed away in 1981.
