Ron Wright was born in 1925 in Sydney.
He was a referee who rose to become the senior official for NSW and Australian football.
His career peaked when he beat overseas referees to control the 1956 Olympic Games final.
The match was between the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia in front of almost 87,000 fans at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, with the former winning 1-0.
Ron passed away in 2005.
